Get your mind right: A blueprint to prep your mind for bringing a vision/idea into reality.

Updated: Nov 5, 2024

THE CHALLENGE OF REALIZING A VISION

Not all of us have the bank accounts or rocket ships like Elon Musk to turn our dreams into reality at the snap of a finger. And for creative entrepreneurs, turning ideas into actual, tangible projects isn’t just about money or time—it’s about conquering the mental and emotional hurdles that stand between you and making that vision real. We all face doubt, fear, and endless questions: Can I even do this? Where do I start? Will anyone care? The mental gymnastics alone are enough to make anyone reach for their phone, scroll social media, or accept invitations from friends to hang out just to avoid the work that really matters.

Let’s be real: if you don’t tackle these blocks, it’s easy to start doubting whether it’s worth it to push forward or not. And even if you muster the courage to knock down your mental roadblocks, you’re left with figuring out how to make it all happen—which is no small feat. This is why so many dreams barely get out of the gate. But here’s the deal: this Codeletter is here to make the process easier, less like a chore, and maybe—just maybe—something you’ll actually enjoy. So let’s ride.

Part 1: Get Clear

Imagine you’re planning a road trip. First thing’s first: you gotta pick a destination. I know you're probably saying to yourself - that's common sense - but hear me out.

Once you know where you’re headed, you can figure out what you need to get there. A roadmap, some gas, snacks for the road (and maybe a playlist). When it comes to your big goals, this clarity is equally essential. Knowing exactly what you’re aiming for gives you an idea of what it'll take to make it happen, which then enables you to determine how possible it is. When you recognize it's not as daunting of an endeavor as you may have first thought, you'll have more confidence to act.

Without clarity on where you want to go with your vision, most people tend to focus on current challenges, past failures, and worries about what they’ve got to deal with in their present experience. When your attention is fixed on these areas, there’s little left to give to your vision, preventing it from getting the focus and energy it needs to come alive. Your vision? It’s like a plant—it needs sunlight, water, and, yes, attention to grow. With clarity, your attention is less likely to wane and get distracted.

Part 2: Seeing and Believing

Bringing a vision to life is a mental workout. When self-doubt shows up, it’s easy to feel drained and want to distract yourself. But if you want to make your vision real, you need to believe you can. I’ve got a technique that could help.

Step One: Get Clear (Again)

Think back to Part One. You’ve got clarity on what you want—now, remember why it matters. The stronger that “why,” the firmer your foundation.

Step Two: Rate Your Belief

Rate how confident you are, from 1 to 10. Brutal honesty here. Then ask yourself, Why didn’t I give it a 10? This approach allows you to uncover those sneaky, underlying doubts that chip away at your confidence. Maybe it’s - I don’t have enough experience or What if I mess up? Identifying these thoughts makes them easier to manage—and they’ll be less likely to block your actions.

Step Three: Visualize Your Future Self

Now comes the fun part: picture yourself living your vision. Imagine the details—where you are, who’s around you, and how you feel. The objective is for you to connect with the version of you that is in another dimension, already experiencing the vision you're holding in it manifestation. You'll know you're successful when you begin to feel sensations in your body - such as lightness or goosebumps. Tap into the confidence, ease, and joy of this future version of you. What you're doing is allowing for your future self to send you the codes you need to cultivate the mindset you are needing to make the vision a reality. You won't be able to create a new experience using the old mindset you've been operating with. This technique is designed to help you cultivate that mindset.

Make this a habit, daily if you can. Over time, you’ll notice new thoughts, fresh ideas, and a stronger belief that this is possible. That belief? It fuels action, inching you closer to that future self you’re visualizing.

Part 3: Know Your “Why”

Knowing why you're chasing your vision isn’t just about motivation; it’s about finding a compass for the journey that actually means something to you. This isn’t just “rah-rah” inspiration—it's about connecting with a purpose that fuels you at your core. When you’re aligned with your true “why,” it’s like having your own secret energy source. Your actions stop feeling like obligations and start feeling like choices that reflect who you really are.

Resonating with Universal Energy

Here’s where it gets interesting: a clear “why” doesn’t just help you stay focused—it syncs you up to something bigger. Call it Universal Intelligence, cosmic vibes, or just plain good luck—when you’re genuinely aligned with what you’re here to do, it feels like the universe is conspiring in your favor. And instead of feeling like you’re grinding uphill, you start moving with the current. Things come together with a kind of ease, like you’re working with the forces around you instead of against them.

Anchoring Yourself in Conscious Awareness

Think of your “why” as what roots you down when the shit hits the fan—because it will hit. With a solid reason pulling you forward, those winds of doubt and distraction won’t knock you off course. Your “why” keeps you steady, reminding you why this journey matters, even when the road is straight shit or unpredictable. It’s your grounding force, keeping you rooted not just in the goal, but in the value of the process itself.

Cultivating Inner Resonance and Attraction

When you’re clear on why you’re doing something, it’s like tuning your inner radar to exactly what you desire. Your energy becomes intentional, focused, and magnetic. Suddenly, the right people, resources, and opportunities show up—almost as if by magic (though really, it’s just you being so clear that you’re attracting what aligns with you). Without this anchor, your energy can scatter; with it, you become a beacon for everything you need to make this vision real.

Part 4: Track the Evidence

You’ve got the vision, the belief, and the purpose. Now, you’ve got to measure your progress. Why? Because measuring what you’ve done will help you strengthen your belief, it gives you proof that your efforts are paying off, and enables you to refine the steps you need to take to move forward.

Weekly Reflection Practice

Take a cool 5-10 minutes at the end of each week to check in with yourself. Think of it like a quick recalibration to keep you on track and aligned with what matters most. These questions will help you dig deeper, celebrate wins, and shake off what’s not working:

  1. What upset you this week? Let’s go beyond the surface here—pinpoint the trigger, but also try to clock the deeper why behind it.

  2. What did you knock out this week, and what tried to knock you off course? Reflect on the obstacles that popped up and the moves you made to handle them.

  3. What did you learn about yourself? New insights, old patterns resurfacing—whatever came up, let it guide you.

  4. What do you need to let go of? Whether it's a lingering self-doubt or a habit you’ve outgrown, identify what’s dragging you back so you can step forward with ease.

  5. How did your old patterns sneak into your work? Notice any familiar behaviors or thought loops that emerged and how they influenced your week.

  6. What fresh insights hit you? Whether big or small, capture those lightbulb moments.

  7. What positive things showed up because of your own skills? Own how your effort and talents are shaping your world—no small thing.

Once you’re done reflecting, pick a few key areas to zoom in on for next week. Set yourself up with some clear, achievable goals to keep building that mental and emotional muscle.

Remember, tracking your progress is an important part of bringing your vision to life—it builds belief and confidence, the essential fuel for bringing your vision to life.
